GCA authored the Traffic Signal Design Guidelines Manual. This manual will be used both by GDOT and consultants in designing signals on state routes. The purpose of the manual is to define all the steps involved in the design of signals, including the MicroStation file structure. This will help assure consistency of design throughout the state. GCA recently completed revising the GDOT Signal Design Manual to incorporate the 2070 controller platform that has been adopted as the standard by GDOT.

GCA also authored the Non-Interstate Signing & Marking Design Guidelines Manual and the Interstate Sign Design Guidelines Manual for the Georgia Department of Transportation. The design guidelines information contained in these manuals is to be utilized by anyone performing any design work along state routes in Georgia. The objectives of these manuals are to have design guidelines information readily available to designers and also to establish consistency in designs from one organization to the next.
